Update KJ The Hague #4: up in the air

We have now reached the fourth floor with the construction
For a few weeks, we have been becoming increasingly visible in the area. On the side of Rijnstraat, we have now reached the fourth floor. Two large steel truss girders have been placed at the ends of the building. These can be seen from Bezuidenhoutseweg and Anna van Buerenstraat. Both girders span multiple floors and therefore could not be placed in one go.

With the construction rising, the first floors of the apartments have also been poured. In the coming weeks, the last girder will arrive at the construction site. We will mount this above the city entrance.

No vacation for team KJ The Hague
The bicycle cellar must open on time, and therefore we will continue as usual during the summer vacation. The construction is going well, but we are not taking any risks. During the vacation, we continue building the park tower. Where possible, the temporary support has already been dismantled. And in this way, we make the entrance to the bicycle cellar accessible again.

After the summer, we will start the work to reopen the cellar. The escalators will then return to The Hague, and then we will create a safe entrance from the public area. By the end of this year, you will be able to put your bicycle back in the cellar.

Our working hours are typically from 07.00 to 16.00 hrs
According to the building permits, we are allowed to work from Monday to Saturday between 07.00 and 19.00 hrs. In practice, this is usually from Monday to Friday from 07.00 to 16.00 hrs. Occasionally, we may need to work outside of the permitted hours. In such cases, we always coordinate with the municipality and inform you in advance.
